UPDATE (9/23/19): DEADLINE POSTPONED UNTIL SEPTEMBER 29: More than ever throughout this Climate Week, we invite you to browse, discover, vote, have fun, invite your friends!

It’s been a quiet time on our end in August, in the wake of Earth Overshoot Day. As the new school year kicks in, we’re excited to be back on deck and are looking forward to some exciting projects going forward.

We’re proud to announce that more than 1,900 members have joined #MoveTheDate Solutions community, contributing more than 550 solutions! A warm welcome to all of you who joined recently. And a special shout-out to all the students – and some teachers – who posted solutions in Léon, Mexico!

Today, we announce the first #MoveTheDate Solutions contest:

  1. Members have until September 22 to vote for their favorite solution in the Food
  2. We, at Global Footprint Network, will take a close look at the 5 solutions which receive the highest number of thumbs-up and comments. From those, we will identify the winner based on its potential to #MoveTheDate.
  3. The winning solution will be promoted on the map, as well as in our newsletter to half-a-million subscribers and on our social media channels.

THE FINE PRINT: Our goal is to give visibility, with your help, to solutions that already exist, meaning they have been implemented, have shown results, and are replicable. Only detailed solutions are eligible to win, meaning they have a precise location, a thorough description, and a picture, video, and/or links to more information about the project. Please keep these criteria in mind as you pick your winning solution. And most importantly, have fun with it!

We can’t wait to see what solutions emerge by September 22. In the meantime, happy exploring!

EXTRA: An “Education, training” subcategory was added to all categories. Feel free to go back and edit your solutions to click that tag if needed.
